As you may know, I am totally in love with Dr Martens. I used to wear a battered old pair to drama school when I was young and this love has continued into adulthood. Carnaby street is one of my favourite shopping haute’s so I was so happy when a new Dr Martens store was unleashed on its streets.
As I am always used to the old school layout of the Covent Garden store, it was nice to see the desired style that Dr Martens are putting out there for their customers. The store itself has a more cleaner cut look then their Covent Garden store and a strong heritage inspiration that is everywhere from the wooden fixtures to the vintage leather sofa’s. There is also a classic looking jukebox that has some ‘London’ inspired music and customers can play whatever they like for free. The first floor of the store is definitely more focused on brand awareness. With their Made in England collection and new Kids range, this floor is a little educational journey of DM’s. The Carnaby store also has a bespoke service and all of the swatches and examples of bespoke DM’s are located on this floor. I think if you are a huge fan of Dr Marten’s and wear them a lot, this would be a great gift to yourself or to another Dr Martens’ fan you may know. Even though the first floor takes you on a historic journey, Dr Martens has also embraced the future and has a photo machine on the landing . As well as printing a copy of yourself having your picture taken instore, you can also have the image emailed to you so you can tweet/instagram or blog it. There is also a chance to put your photo it onto the store’s Projector which also showcases some of the brand’s recent Campaigns. Overall, the store has a really welcoming and friendly environment. With lovely staff that are always happy to assist you, this great store offers customers the chance to browse the amazing shoes and clothes at their leisure and but gives them a gentle poke to get involved and tweet the Dr Martens Gods.
If you get a chance, please pop in and see this great store and you can also check out my latest outfit post with some Dr Martens Wellies that I reviewed and got from the Carnaby Street store.
