Spring/Summer has always been a time for celebrating the warmer climate and experimenting with old trends past and abusing bright colours that just won’t cut it in Winter. Roksanda Ilincic is the perfect designer to show us how to have fun with summer and our wardrobe and their latest collection is just as fun and feminine. With a slight french chic inspiration of big black bows and flicked eye makeup, the new collection embraces a more elegant time when ladies lunched, lace was essential and all our shoes had bows on them. A print has played a part in the collection, with a historic style of pop art that would have been in very gallery in the 50’s but it’s the colour pops that really speaks volumes to us. Burnt Orange, seductive purple and lemon yellow all make an appearance and give pleated skirts, cropped trousers and floaty blouses so much more depth. A gappy black lace was an injection in many of the tops and dresses but I think the full skirt with the white underlay looked classic and yet modern for the ladies of today.
