Getting ready for my day at Newbury racecourse was a lot of fun. Gary loves any excuse to don a suit and as it’s been a while since I got really dressed up, it did both of us a lot of good.

I knew it was best to make an effort and wear something a little special but sometimes planning an outfit too much can show when you eventually wear it. I love anyone who can rock their outfit but having a relaxed attitude towards any look can help loads. My whole outfit here really came together by accident. I ordered this gorgeous coat and dress from Kaleidoscope which I thought would match perfectly together but when it came to the necklace, the watch, the boots and bag, they were just there at the right time.

I was a little unsure of this dress at first as I have never really worn anything lurex but it was surprisingly comfortable and warm. The coat kept me toasty too when we were outside watching the races and these boots from New Look didn’t hurt me at all and I wore them for at least 4 hours straight.

Do you like my outfit? I think the Mulberry bag looks amazing with this look!
