Sadly with the cold weather creeping in, fashion sometimes takes a back seat when winter comes. With this is mind, I thought I would experiment with some layering and see if this is a look I would carry on through until Spring.
Blazers are a good alternative to jackets when it’s a little chilly and this Studded shoulder blazer from Fashion Union is perfect for smarting up an outfit and giving it a little edge.
Boohoo.com is a great place to pick up something rather different and these Baggy silver trousers are a snip at £20. With a stretchy waistband and loose fit, you can dress these up or down and wear for an evening out or hanging out at home.
I am totally one for long tops to layer and for covering my hips and this leopard stud top/dress from Miss Guided is the right length to team with some heels and great to layer with jeans. Available in 4 colours, you can easily style one of these into your wardrobe.
Accessories are always a good way to highlight an outfit and really dress up a winter look. Anna Lou of London create some really cute and kooky pieces of jewellery and this Owl Necklace really caught my eye. As Owl’s are heavily used this season after Burberry introduced them to the catwalk, I thought a necklace would be a nicer piece that still hits the trend boxes but can be worn long after the Owl motif goes away and hibernates.
As well as strong jewellery, I think shoes can really make or break an outfit too. All Sole is the online store that holds brands like Senso, Barbour and one of my favourites, Jeffrey Campbell. These studded spike wedge trainers are so comfortable and above all, gives you a little height with that secret wedge heel.
Headbands are a unique way of dressing your hair and resembling a french chic look that is elegant and simple. Hettie Silovitz is the US-based hair accessories’ designer who loves to experiment with headbands and is making them a strong statement again. With plenty of designs, I loved this black embellished piece and I actually have a giveaway with another headband by Hettie so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Lastly I have finally been introduced to Chamilia. The jewellery brand specialises in a range of different pieces but their charm bracelets are where the fun really begins. Visit the site here and you too could design your own bracelet.
