With the current climate, we all need some magic in our lives and thankfully Ashridge House is on hand with their new Enchanted Garden Globes and Illuminated Woodland Walk

Nettled in the Hertfordshire countryside, set in 190 acres of the idyllic English landscape, Ashridge House is more than just a stately home. Once a royal residence to Henry VIII and Princess Elizabeth I, it feels more otherworldly and somewhere Harry Potter would feel rather at home. The drive up to the house along the tree-lined country road felt extremely magical especially when we turned a corner and the estate came into view.

Now it’s called a house but really, it’s like a castle. A massively, spectacular castle.

Once we arrived and captured enough shots of the entrance, we were welcomed by the friendly team who were all PPE’d up and who walked us into the main stairwell. These stairs are actually pretty famous as the set designers behind the Harry Potter films actually took inspiration (and mouldings) from them.

After a few more steps we were outside at the back of the house and first set our eyes on the beautiful garden globes that all looked amazing against the landscaped gardens.

Positioned perfectly with lots of room to spare, we took up residence in our globe and were welcomed by an electric fire, comfy cushions, blankets, and an elegantly laid table! It was just picturesque!

Once we got comfortable, we were served our taster menu (which is easily adaptable for veggies and vegans), and from start to finish, every course was beautiful. The team that served us super acknowledged in terms of the ingredients used and we felt suitably stuffed at the end.

Now, what is the best thing for a full stomach? A nice walk – cue the Illuminated Woodland Walk! By following the signs with light provided, we were able to have a walk around the estate, chat with an elf on the way, and even witness the amazing lights that decorated the whole place! The walk was about 10-15 mins long which was perfect considering we wanted to stretch our legs a bit.

I really didn’t want the evening to end but I’m so thankful for being invited to Ashridge House. It was the perfect escape and beat yet, YOU can enjoy this unique experience for yourself!
