I don’t know how me and Amy accomplished doing LFW this season…
With us both working full time and there being this huge negative cloud hanging over BFC, we both decided we wanted to do Fashion Week our own way and do you know what? It was brilliant…
We started off our first day(Friday) at the LFW x Make up Plus app party at 9am. It was early for us both and we were pretty tired hauling our overnight bags everywhere but the event were hosting make overs and hairstyling on tap so that was a huge plus for us! After a chat with the team and a play around with the app, we headed downstairs at Lights of Soho and queued to have our looks revamped. We were lucky that both Ian(a Revlon mentor) and Emily(a freelance Makeup artist) became free at the same time so we both jumped in, feet first and got ready to be beautified!
As I still have half of my head shaved, Ian decided to create a rock chic look with some volume and texture. To start, he created the cutest plait down the side of my head which looked awesome against my shaved section. He then sectioned my hair and used a thick curling tong to create some loose curls to give my hair some height. I really looked the loose curl look and it was a great trick for some easy volume.
After a quick back comb of my front fringe, he create a cute quiff and I was done!
Amy finished having her makeup done at the same time so we swapped over. She looked so gorgeous with cat eyeliner and lush red lippy. Emily who created Amy’s look, wanted to give some attention to my eyes so she created a fabulous smoky eye and finished it off with a pink blush and pale pink lips.
Amy’s hair looked fabulous too. Ian had created loose curls in her hair and she even had a twisted plait at the back of her her for an added feature.
Once we were all finished and thanked the team at the event, we decided it was time to head to Shepherds Bush and check into our hotel for the night. We have reviewed a few hotels together before as we are both going down the lifestyle routes with our blogs but we were still really excited to stay at the Dorsett hotel over LFW.
After a quick trip on the central line, we arrived at the Dorsett and were greeted by warm staff and a very modern, luxury hotel.  The interior had a real Japanese inspiration to it and it felt great to finally see our hotel for the next couple of days (See the full review here).
Once we were all checked in and packed, we headed out to have some lunch. Amy had arranged a table for us at Ceru, a Mediterranean restaurant in South Kensington. See my review here and believe, make sure you book yourself a table as it is amazing!
As we were in Kensington, we thought it would be prefect to shoot our outfits for the day there before heading to some shows. We found a great quiet street to do them and even met the cutest dog ever in the process!
Once we were all done, we rushed to the tube and headed to the Strand to catch the Paul Costelleo show. It’s always a favourite of mine and it was great to see the new collection from coats, skirts and dresses for the new season.
After the show finished we headed to the Turkish Embassy for Zeynep Kartal’s AW17 collection. It was a great location to show off the brands new designs and I loved the mixture of fur, lace and leather in cool muted colours.
Once Zeynep Kartal wrapped we decided it was time to head back to the hotel for dinner. We were both pretty tired and it had been a long day and I don’t know how it’s possible but we were hungry again(!?). Read my review of the hotel and it’s delicious restaurant.
