I have totally fallen for the Pastel trend that we had for A/W13 and thankfully it has crept into S/S14 too. As it is such a huge trend at the moment, I wanted to wear some trendy shapes and celebrate all the pieces that are VERY NOW!
Miss Guided have some great pastel options and I love this coat and top that are new to the brand’s site! I think the two colours mash so well together and look great with the pink too! The coat has a thick texture to it which is warm and cosy and the cropped top is thick too but you could easily wear it when the weather starts getting warmer.
Bank has some lovely things on their site at the moment and I think this baby pink vinyl skirt works really well with my whole look. The fabric is warm and its shape gives a sexy silhouette that is something I don’t normally try and attempt. I had to get a 14 in this skirt as there isn’t much give so be weary of this if you are thinking of getting it too.
I wanted some shoes to match my coat and Ted Baker have some great Jelly shoes that have just launched and their Mint option worked perfectly with this look. I love the big jewel on the toes and they are dead comfortable and will be a regular on my feet.
A Pastel outfit needs some statement accessories and I wanted to try and match these with my colour scheme but wanted them to stand out on their own too. Sunglasses have been a staple throughout LFW for me and these blue lens ones from Accessorize were great to pop out of a pastel sea. I love how the arms of the sunglasses change from clear to yellow to blue and these are going to be great for when the summer really hits. I Love Crafty has some great perspex jewellery and I thought that these ‘I’m really a mermaid’ pieces would look great with this pastel theme. The earrings and necklace are both a shell shape which makes them stand out against these bold colours and they add a totally cute factor too!
Lucky enough for me Accessorize have some great pastel bags and this pale purple and cream option looked great to help finish off this look! It is a decent size and it easily held all my essentials for LFW. As I was lacking some print (which is weird for me), I just used this Wing silk scarf from the Textile Federation to add a little extra pow to this look. The mint in the print worked really well with my outfit and I think all these little details finished it off nicely.
