Dresses to impress

Autumn/winter is always an interesting time as new colours, styles and brands are out in force. As well as coats, jackets and sweaters, occasion dresses are also BANG on-trend this year and they are out to make an impact.

With the colder months comes the classic options like the LBD and party wear but there are a fair amount of trends that any of us can wear this season. Floaty frills and boho prints are promoting the 70’s, whimsical crowd, while velvet midi’s are giving a nod to the more luxury style that even has pumps to match. The oriental trend is back for this season with wrap dresses and embroidery and bright splashes of colour are here to wake up marl grey knitwear and ready to match with Gucci themed sneakers.

Warehouse have some great dresses on their website currently that ticks many of the current trend boxes including their gorgeous embroidered skater dress – #ToDIE4. They also have some great polka dot options which are ideal for the office and I love Warehouse’s winter floral prints which are delicious and perfect for many occasions.

Now you may think it is a little too cold for the legs to be out in the chilly air but with some clever styling, the dresses of today can be worn TODAY. Also don’t forget it doesn’t matter how thick the material of the dress you want is as laying is now your new best friend. Try your dress over jeans or leggings so your pins are warm always and jumpers and oversized jackets are great bedfellows to match. Try some of these styles out and even better, share your results on Instagram and Pinterest as I am sure you will get some new fans if you do.
