It’s funny how until my recent trip with Amy to Paris, I hadn’t really experienced all that the capital has to offer on the restaurant circuit. I did of course eat when I was in Paris but not like this…
On our first night in Paris, we had a table booked at Le Millésimes 62 , on place de Catalogne which is south of the river. After jumping in a cab from our hotel, we arrived at the restaurant that had an outdoor eating area and was sectioned off from the road by small brushes and plants. I had no idea what to expect but the staff were friendly and seated us outside with some menus.
We didn’t opt for a starter as we had our lunch a little late that day so we skipped straight to ordering mains.
As Amy was looking for a gluten free option, we were very surprised at how accommodating the staff were and they suggested she try the lamb with no sauce and vegetable. It looked pretty scrumptious when it arrived and she seemed to enjoy it. I was looking forward to my dish, the swordfish and it arrived served with a mixture of vegetables and oil and it smelt divine. I hadn’t tried swordfish since I was on holiday with my parents and I was about 8 but I remembered it was very tasty. With a texture similar to chicken, swordfish is the perfect dish for anyone who loves meat and wants to try something new. It was a little salty but it clashed with the vegetables and oil wonderfully and I was pretty sad when it was all gone.
For dessert, I wanted something simple so I tried the restaurant’s ice cream that included flavours; Mango, Coconut and chocolate. The mango gave the dish a nice fruity hit but the chocolate and coconut together was AMAZING! I think the restaurant staff were a little unsure about those two flavours together but I get the impression they don’t have Bounty bars in France.
After we finished our meals, we had a scout of the restaurant inside. It as beautifully designed with a lime green theme throughout and I loved the vintage items that lined the walls, giving the modern furnishings a real twist.
If you are in Paris, definitely check out this Le Millésimes 62. The food was brilliant and Amy and me had such an amazing time!
Thanks for having us Le Millésimes 62!
