Dinner with Gaucho, Bell Yard, London

Gaucho London reviewGaucho London reviewGaucho London reviewGaucho London reviewGaucho is a restaurant that I have always heard tons about but never actually set foot in any of their restaurants.  Recently I was invited to check out their Bell Yard restaurant in the City so it was the perfect excuse to see why everyone was raving about Gaucho.

On our arrival(my friend Phiroza and I), we were given the beef menu and one of the waiting staff showed us the different types of steak that we could have for our meal. This was a real special treat as I love steak and it was really informative to speak to the staff and see what cut of meat was best for the volume of cooking I wanted. We both opted for a fillet but received different size steak to Phiroza as we like them cooked very differently.  As I like mine rare to medium, the beef was cooked on the outside but was beautifully pink on the inside. Cutting the meat was like slicing better and the roasted sweet potato, mushrooms, creamy spinach and fries were utterly divine too.

We also received some sweet chilli prawns for the starter and as someone who doesn’t like prawns, they tasted very smooth, soft and the sauce complimented them brilliantly.

As someone with a strong, sweet tooth, I picked the very soft and moist sticky toffee pudding that came with a drop of ice cream. The cake itself was like a taste explosion in my mouth and mixed with the ice cream, tasted simply heavenly.Gaucho London reviewGaucho London reviewMy visit to Gaucho with Phiroza was a real magical one. As I had never been to any of their restaurants before I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am now a fully converted fan of Gaucho. Being on the receiving end of a gorgeous luxury meal, well trained and devoted staff and quality service really made me want to come back for a second visit immediately. Surprisingly the prices on the menu are not totally unaffordable and many could easily dine there for special occasions and have a great night out like I did. With a chic setting, amazing menu and beautiful food you are bound to become an avid fan of the Gaucho family and enjoy many special nights with them too!
