I love St. Katherine’s Dock. I adore its vibe, the crowd it attracts and of course the fabulous restaurants and shops. In another life, I used to work only around the corner from this popular City hub so any excuse to go is ideal.
I was recently asked to review Emilia’s Pasta restaurant so when I saw they had a branch at my favourite dock, I jumped at the chance to visit it.
Sat on the waterfront, Emilia’s Pasta is a very cute and cosy place. The branch has seating both inside and out which is great for all weathers and caters for those Londoners who love sitting in the sunshine. As it was cold out, Phiroza and I decided to sit inside in a nice corner by the window. I was very hungry and ready for some pasta and some girlie time with my friend.
The menu is what you would expect from a pasta joint but all the pasta served at Emilia’s is made in the restaurant, fresh and ready for your plates. It’s a great accomplishment in a city that demands instant meals quick and they even hold pasta masterclasses for those who would like to learn how it’s done.
To start off this pasta treat we both choose the smoked salmon carbonara which was delicious. It was the perfect portion size and was creamy but light. The salmon tasted fresh too and it definitely left me wanting another bowl.
Phiroza enjoyed hers too and once we were finished we had a look at the dessert menu.
I’m a huge brownie fan so opted for one that comes made with salted caramel, with vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of chocolate. Phiroza ordered Emilia’s special which is vanilla ice cream topped with honey, crushed amaretti and cantuccini biscuits. Both desserts looked amazing when they arrived and my brownie was truly divine perfect for chocolate lovers.
Phiroza and I had a brilliant time at Emilia’s. The team there were super friendly and I loved the pasta dishes they have on offer on their menu.
If you fancy popping over to Emilia’s Pasta there is a branch at St. Katherine’s Dock and also a newly opened one at Aldgate.
