Bora Aksu is one of my favourite designers to watch at London Fashion Week. With a wide range of influences, the designer still manages to keep true to his original vision but creates something new and unique each season. Once the models begun stunting and gracing the catwalk, a very feminine and old worldly inspiration started to unfold. With lady-like full skirts, puff sleeves and prissy collars, Bora’s new collection remained me of ‘Little house of the Prairie’ with the strip skirts and shirts and Eliza Doolittle from ‘My Fair Lady’ with the tiered dresses and lace frills. Colours such as bright yellows and red pinks lite up the show and gave depth to the collection’s delicate details and cuts. Bora Aksu has also inserted the transparent trend using sheer pockets, shoulders and sleeves which highlights summer and our need for on-trend pieces but in light fabrics.
