I have always been curious about the Hoxton in Shoreditch and every time I walked past the hotel, I always wanted to go in and see what it was like. Lucky for me, that changed last weekend when I was invited to stay at the hotel to review its cool interior and comfy beds. As Amy and I had a crazy amount of projects on that weekend, she came and stayed with me so we could both experience this cool hotel and get some work done too.
Now the first thing I noticed when I went into the Hoxton is just how cool it is. As it’s based in the trendiest part of London, it has to be pretty fabulous but I found it was cool and current by simply being itself. Vintage sofas, books, cage shelving and a huge fireplace were just some of the features that I saw when I first walked in and even though there was bare brick and high ceilings, I really got a nice and homely feel from the hotel as soon as I walked in. It seemed pretty chilled too as people were just hanging out, catching up on some work while others were just chilling with their friends.
Once we checked it (the staff were ridiculously nice), Amy and me headed up to our room to start doing some product reviews and YouTube videos. Once we rode the lift to the 4 floor and swiped our card, we were met by a very stylish room that was chic, retro and comfortable. It felt like somebody’s den with the wooden furniture and comply leather seats and it was great to have two twin beds so we didn’t have to share a double. The light throughout was pretty romantic and not stressful on the eyes and I loved how the bathroom was laid out with a wide shower, large shower head and a good sized sink. The titling had a heritage feel to it too except for the yellow injection which gave it a real modern twist.
Once we got all our reviews out the way and even went to dinner in central, it was so lovely to come back to the hotel and get some well deserved sleep! We were pretty shocked when we got back as there was a huge party going on in the lobby with people drinking and enjoying their Friday night. We were way too tired to join in with the fun so we headed back to our room. I was a little concerned about the noise as it was pretty busy with London’s nightlife downstairs but once we got to our room, it was dead quiet and it took hardly any time at all for me to fall asleep.
If you are looking for a great place to stay in London, the Hoxton is the best spot to do that. It is a really stylish hotel that is coated in London heritage and culture and with friendly staff, outgoing guests and comfortable beds, you are bound to go back more than once.
Now I just need to go again with the Husband…
