A stay with Solent Hotel & Spa, Fareham

Let me set the scene for you… Gary and I have lived in our house for nearly 4 years. In those 4 years, we have completely renovated the garden, the upstairs of our house and are now doing the kitchen, living room and stairs. With all this going on, you can imagine that we sadly don’t get much time off, let alone have a holiday, so special weekends away really do help keep us sane.

You can imagine then that it was lovely to be offered a review of Solent Hotel & Spa which was exactly what we needed!

I had never been to Fareham but from London, it takes about 3-4 hours in the car. It’s near to Portsmouth which we have visited previously so we knew the area and we were keen to explore the hotel’s spa and pool facilities which looked lovely on the website.

I wasn’t sure what to expect of the decor and interior when we arrived but I was pleasantly surprised when we came across the grand staircase that sits opposite the reception area and grandeur didn’t stop there. Large hallways with multiple seating areas are situated off from the reception and a large bar is placed in the center of it all. The dining area is next to that and the Spa and pool are only a few steps away.

Our room was beautiful too with a rich and traditional feel with a large bathroom, sitting area and a bedroom that is bigger than the one we have at home!

The Spa was the perfect opportunity for us(and anyone) to unwind. There is a large pool available for guests and a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in the same area. I found that it was a really relaxing environment and there is even a timetable available so you can avoid the kid’s hour if you wish.

If you want to stay over at the Solent Hotel & Spa, you should definitely visit their restaurant. The menu is vast and both Gary and I found it hard to choose a meal to eat as there was so much great choice. I have recently turned pescatarian but I didn’t find it a problem on our visit and enjoyed traditional fish and chips and a crab and asparagus starter.

If you need some TLC and time away, you must visit the Solent Hotel & Spa in Fareham. I really enjoyed my whole stay there and would go back any day! They even had bikes available for guests so you could go off and have a ride around the area.
