As Spring has finally arrived it was the perfect time to pay a visit to the gorgeous Amba hotel in Charing Cross, London.
As someone who used to live in the capital for eight years I had previously walked past this chic and quint hotel many times but never had a reason to go. Lucky for me though I has recently asked to review this familiar place so I dragged Gary along for this one night stay experience.
On arriving at the Amba, we were instantly greeted with a smile and friendly manner from all the team. With enough check-in and luggage staff to assist us, we had our dinner booked, room key and were shown to our room in a flash. I felt the staff were extremely approachable and seemed more than happy to help with anything that we needed.
Our hotel room was pretty amazing too. With a simple yet designer-esque layout, there were plenty of features including the wooden work desk, huge flat screen TV, comfortable bed, complimentary mini bar and a luxury shower that had room for two. Even the view was pretty stunning and it was great to see Londoners passing by our window in the sunlight.
As it was still early and we had a press screening of The Gunman that evening, we decided to go out and have a little walk around London before the our movie and dinner at Amba. It was really nice to actually have some free time to wonder about and the glorious sunshine definitely put everyone in a good mood. After our walk around, we changed our outfits back at the hotel and popped down to Leicester Square to see The Gunman. It was surprisingly a good movie and with all those thrill rides and suspense moments, we were ready for a big dinner at Amba.
I wasn’t really sure what sort of meals were on offer but what we did order were absolutely amazing. For my main I had the fish and chips (which is probably the best fish and chips I have ever tasted) while Gary had the pork belly with mash and vegetables. My Husband was humble enough to let me try some of his meal and the meat and mash alone were cooked to perfection!! With a real soft, creamy texture, the mash was delicious and the pork was so tender and cooked just right.
The staff that served us for the evening were so lovely and attentive that it just added to a truly magical evening and made it really special for Gary and me. After dinner we decided to slink into the bar and have a few drinks. It was really nice just to sit there and relax and we even chatted to the bar staff about cocktails and general drinks we enjoyed.
After a rather strong double Tia Maria, sleep finely took over and we both slopped up to bed. I couldn’t wait to sleep in Amba’s nice clean sheets and the bed was so soft and comfortable.
The next morning, we both enjoyed a glorious breakfast in the restaurant. With the option of either ordering from the menu or choosing from the buffet, we decided that a buffet breakfast was ideal to feed us after our late night. As well as the usual fry up, there was fruit, cereal and pastries to choose from and the staff even brought us tea and yummy toast to munch on.
After we finished the staff were preparing the tables for Afternoon tea so I quickly grabbed these snaps as I loved the crockery they were laying out. Overall, our stay was really relaxing and refreshing for both Me and Gary. The staff and our room were above expectations and the attention to detail was perfection.
It’s definitely a great hotel to stay in if you are looking for a London getaway and it’s very popular with professionals and business people alike.
