Sometimes something as simple as changing your house number can really give your home a lift!
I’m not sure if you have heard of Ramsign before but if you are looking for a new number for an old house, this brand is definitely one to consider. Inspired by the vintage style numbers and street signs you may have seen around Europe (especially Paris), Ramsign was the first company in Denmark to resurrect the art of producing hand stencilled vitreous enamel signs. Ramsign signs are so easy to install yourself. All you need is a pen, safety glasses, a drill, drill bit, screws, and wall plugs.
Before you get started, you need to decide where you want your sign to sit. To help with this, it’s always helpful for someone to hold the sign up while you stand back and see if the positioning looks ok. I always do this when deciding where something should be positioned as standing in different places can make your decision a lot easier.
Once you are happy, use the holes in the sign to mark out where to drill. Make sure you use something like a sharpie as they are better at marking out holes on bricks or coarse surfaces. You can also use a level to check if your sign is straight if you can’t make that judgment by eye.
Now you are ready to drill. Use the screws you have to determine how big a drill bit you need to use and off you go. Don’t forget to wear some safety glasses just in case! Using a little pressure, drill the holes out to the size of the drill bit. Once you are happy with the size of the holes, push in the wall plugs. If they are secure, you can then fit your sign. Place the first screw through the hole of the sign and tighten up the screw. Don’t completely tighten it up as you may want some movement when you put in all the other screws. Once this is all done, you are finished! Now you can stand back and look at your work(and pray it is straight too!).
