After 4 years of renovating, Gary and I are almost ready to start working on our living room. It is the last room in our house to be done and we can’t wait for it to be finished. We have had to go back to brick and beams in every room which is why it has taken so long but now the fun stuff like decorating can begin! To find some living room decor ideas, I have had a little scout on H&M’s app, watched loads of George Clarke’s Old House, New Home and even looked at Pinterest.
Here are some cool inspirational images I found that may inspire you also.
I love the bare brick and velvet clash of the sofa. We are having bare brick throughout on side of the house so this is a great inspiration set up for us. I think the injection of marble looks great too. (Made.com)
I’m obsessed with anything a little different and this living room has so many cool, quirky things. I love the picture arrangement and the worn leather sofa. (Made.com)
Retro styles are so fashionable right now and I adore this pink suede mix with dark wooden furniture. It reminds me of my Nan’s house but with a cool, textured hit. (Made.com)
Beach inspirations and clean lines are also looks I inspire to have. I love this set up with the matching colour pops and the mixes of wood, leather, fabric and metal. (H&M.com)
As we wanted to work with as many natural inspirations as possible, bare brick, metal and wood will be throughout our home. I really wanted a theme too and after looking at the rattan trend and gathering animal inspiration, I have gone for a Victorian traveller look which is filled with natural materials but has lavish hits like velvet, gold and copper. Here is a mood board I have created to really bring our new living room to life!
1 –Â Pink Perfection by Valspar, 2 – Secret Retreat by Valspar, 3 – Leopard wallpaper by Murals Wallpaper, 4 – Elephant wallpaper by Murals Wallpaper, 5 – Velvet Leopard cushion by H&M, Palm woven cushion by H&M, Lemon print plant pot by H&M, 8 – Rattan low chair by H&M.
