Reliving our holiday from last month is a great experience. Even though it is now cold in the UK and I am having to wear a winter coat, I have these great pictures and adventures that I can look back on and hopefully look forward to again next year with our gang of friends.
You can imagine staying in a villa with 10 people can get a little crowded but lucky for us there was no arguments and we pretty much had the perfect time. Saying that, me and Gary wanted a little romantic evening to ourselves so with a quick look on google, I saw that a restaurant called Carnivor was only a short walk away (about 30Â mins) and with great reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to have a wander down there.
Now the walk to the restaurant was a little dangerous. Me and Gary are pretty ballsy when it comes to these things but if you don’t fancy walking toward oncoming traffic when there is no street lights, then you can easily grab a cab to this lush restaurant and I have to say, it was well worth dicing with death to visit this amazing place.
As soon as I saw that we were close to the red dot on my map, a rustic, well light building appeared around a corner. With a stone drive, placed in the hills, it looked like the most romantic place I have ever set my eyes on and both me and Gary knew we had hit the jackpot finding this restaurant.
With friendly staff who all spoke some English, we were easily seated and shown a very warm welcome. We were given our menus and Gary got the chance to savour some flavoursome red wine and any alcohol he was offered.
I will be honest, it is an expensive place to eat if you are on a budget but with the lovely setting and a warm summer night, we were pretty chilled about the cost and it wasn’t often that we get to enjoy such a romantic evening on holiday.
To eat, we both ordered a Salmon salad as a starter and a steak which had been wrapped in paper with herbs, spices and port. We weren’t exactly sure how our meal would turn out but we were in for a taste sensation.  The salmon salad was the perfect proportion as a starter. The fish was prepared perfectly with rocket and chilly string but really the steak was the star of the night. I have never tasted a piece of meat so full of flavour before and even though it was a little pricy, it was completely worth it. The port complemented the herbs and spices perfectly and it was cooked just how we like, brown on the outside and still raw on the inside. I would happily go to this restaurant again as it was the best meat I have tasted and as Carnivor have been open since 1922, others seem to agree with me too.
For dessert, I managed to squeeze in a delicious chocolate cake(with Gary’s help) that was topped with raspberry and a fruit jelly which I had never tried before. It wasn’t too slickly and really finished off the meal nicely.
After Gary had drink his wine, we paid our bill and had a little wander around inside the restaurant. As it was beautiful weather, everyone was sat outside but I loved the farmhouse interior that Carnvior has. With dark wood, a tradition old looking bar and white table cloths, it is a very chic place to visit and the cute frogs had littered everywhere, this place really did put a smile on my face.
As it was such a beautiful night with a gorgeous settling, I asking Gary to do some pictures for me to show off my outfit. I was pretty pleased with this little boho, Spanish getup that I had styled before we left and you can see this look here.
If you get the chance to visit Carnivor, I would high recommend it. The staff were incredibly friendly, had great knowledge of the dishes and the food was too die for!
Only problem is, I want to go back tomorrow!
