Spending, What’s your habits?

Ladies, we have all been there. That moment when Net-a-porter’s sale email hits your inbox or when you spot the next it bag on Cara Del(can’t never spell her name.) I’m talking about that moment when you mentally calculate if you can afford that Anya Hindmarch wallet or considered getting a credit card to buy the latest Chanel bag. I have had some splurges in my time(Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes or my Moschino Mcdonald’s bag) but now I am on the verge of buying a house I have suddenly start evaluating everything I spend money on.  Whether it’s that Starbucks ice drink or a purse from Kate Spade (which I needed 😏), I am looking at everything that leaves my account and trying to behave when it comes to buying fashion bits and DVDs(my other weakness).
I asked some of my blogger mates what their spending habits were and it seems I’m not alone.

As I will always like to buy nice things(like others), I have thought up some money saving tips that will help you get through the month and you never know, the money you save, you could always put towards a new designer bag or two.
Buying too many magazine?
Don’t get me wrong. I love a good magazine but they can be costly if you are buying them every week. To save money, look at joining Twitter and then you can follow all your gossip mags and fashion channel’s and get the latest news direct. It will totally pay off and you can be selective on what you want to read and what you don’t want to bother with.
I need my coffee/Tea in the morning!
If you are a commuter, a coffee or tea every morning from Starbucks, Costa or your local shop can really add up! I used to buy a drink for a £1 everyday which really was just in case I got thirsty on the tube. To save money, spend £6 and buy yourself a travel mug. I recently bought one and have a nice cup of tea every morning on my way to work and it costs me less than 10p a day!
Want a designer handbag?
If you want a designer bag, why not join up on eBay or vinted and sell your old stuff you no longer wear. I did eventually buy my Moschino bag and it felt really good to buy something new from selling some old stuff I haven’t worn for a while. Selling stuff like Adidas, Jeffrey Campbell and designer goods do sell well on these sites and you can check how well similar items have sold on eBay before you list your item too.
Lunch time!
For those who work in London, you will know how expensive it is to buy lunches everyday.  As it can cost you an advantage of £5 – 7 a day, it soon rakes up and that’s money you could be adding to your saving account.  To help reduce the amount you spend, try making your lunch everyday. Making extra at dinner time or cooking and dividing lunches up to last a few days is a great way to make your money stretch. If you are dieting, by making your own lunches, you can control your calorie and fat intake far better too.
Buying essentials…
We all need shampoo, hairspray, nail varnish and other delightful things in our life. If you really want/need an item, shop around to get the best deal. When buying cosmetics, we have Boots, Superdrug, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and many others to choose from but do your research and see if there are any discounts or buy one, get one free offers to save you some money. If you don’t have any points cards yet, make sure you get some, as you could buy perfume, hair straighteners and anything you want with points you have earned every time you shop.
Getting dressed…
Clothes are my biggest weakness but you can save money when you go shopping. As highstreet brands do a lot of similar styles per each season, if you find one item you like, check other competitors to see what they are charging for a similar item.  Also check how well the item is made as 9 times out of 10, if it looks cheap, it probably is.
You can always look for bargain designer wear too. By shopping on websites like Browns, Farfetch and Selfridges, you may catch some of your favourite designer pieces in the sale and it’s worth checking the designer boutiques direct as they maybe in sale when other brands aren’t.
Credit Score!
With all the moving, loans and credit cards we have may had in the past, it is always worth having a credit check done to see if there are any black marks against your name.  With Experian, you can make sure you don’t have any nastiest hanging around your neck or any fraudulent activity in your name. Simply enter your details and you can see a list of addresses you have lived, any accounts you have opened and see if there are any weird activity that you don’t remember doing. Check out Experian’s website here: www.creditexpert.co.uk/advice/credit-score and if you have any questions, they will be happy to help!

  1. Appreciating the dedication you put into your blog and
in depth information you present. It’s great to come across a blog
every once in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed information. Fantastic
read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.

  2. I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a
blog that’s equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail
on the head. The issue is something not enough folks
are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy that I
stumbled across this in my hunt for something regarding this.

  3. As a photographer I take pride in hobby and my work,
