Christmas is only about a month away and with the festive season comes lots of parties and new beauty needs. I don’t know about you but it is so easy to get into the same routine with your makeup so I wanted to suggest and try some new products that will shake up your festive makeup and give you a different look.
As I tend to not wear foundation(unless I am having a horrid skin week), I wanted to give my face some nice coverage and a wake up so I used Maybelline’s New Baby Skin primer. It moisturised my face and gave my look a nice gorgeous dewy feel. It applies really easy and felt so soft and gentle on my face. I used cool Rose and I loved the pink hint it had which I felt gave my face a nice fresh, glow.
As well as natural looking skin, I love, love, love statement blusher! Benefit has Fine-one-one, that has three shades that blend together when you use it on your cheeks. For maximum effect, simply massage the stick in a circular motion and you will get a really rosy appearance that looks and feels great. You can also use this product on your lips so it is a great all rounder and doesn’t feel greasy at all.
Even though I don’t wear foundation much, concealer is always a girl’s best friend. This gorgeous stick Fake up from Benefit is perfect if you have a spot here or blemish there and is great for dark circles. It also has a outer Vitamin E moisturizer that helps spread the concealer and won’t dry out your skin. It felt a little weird using it at first but once you have applied your desired amount, simply use your finger to rub in the concealer to make sure if looks even with your skin tone.
I know Clarins make AMAZING beauty products but it was lovely to try some of their makeup pieces recently. I love Mascara’s that aren’t sticky and Clarins Be Long Mascara doesn’t glump and made my lashes look long, thin and vampish. Teamed up with Essence’s liquid Matt eyeliner, I think my eyes really pop here and the eyeliner was so easy to apply that you could easily wear this everyday for a more girlie, french look. I prefer to wear lipstick rather then eyeshadow and when I saw Beauty UK had produced a black lipstick, I was gagging to try it out!
I think I’m not alone when you relate black makeup to Halloween but I wanted to wear this lipstick in a glamorous way that shows it can be worn all year round. For only £3.49, this lipstick is a complete steal and I love how it looks with my eyes and some statement earrings! You will need to apply it often as it is such a dark colour but you could always try a gloss over the top which will seal it and give your lips more kissable look. I am totally smitten with this lipstick and I will defo wear it for LFW next season as it looks too nice to only wear when the ghosts and ghouls are out and about.
As my Makeup here is pretty striking, nude nails are ideal for a contrast and Tesco’s Bd Mellow Moments fits in perfectly with my look. I love how easy to apply these nail colours are and this colour is gorgeous and very easy to wear. These nail varnish start at £3.99 so they are great for gift giving and cheap enough that your nails can always look on trend! With a easy to apply brush, this varnish felt easy and effortless to wear and lasted about a week without any touch ups or patches.
So did you like my look? I would love to know if you have tried any of these products before or have you donned a Black lippy too?

I’m not brave enough to rock a dark lip though I wish I was.
I use the fine one one blusher loads but I use it differently to you x if you put it on in one streak from your temples to your cheek with the pale shade at the top its your highlighter blusher and contour all at the same time I the right place x
Oh i might try that too!! Could always rock a dark red or brown?
Love the look! Very trendy but yet classy. I am more of a huge clothes person and less on the beauty side. I think because I grew up as a competitive tennis player, and makeup was never something I needed. Although, makeup has sparked an interest lately and I’ve been looking for a christmas look, and came across your post. Thanks for the inspiration and makeup brands.
Glad you liked it! I’m not a huge makeup wearer either but always nice to experiement!! x
